Temporary Traffic Management (TTM)

Equip yourself to assist with Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) as TTM workers under supervision, following the Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management (CoPTTM).

What you will learn:
  • Intorduction to Temporary Traffic Management (TTM)
  • Overview of TTM roles and responsibilities

  • Health and safety considerations

  • Personal safety responsibilities of the TTM worker in line with CoPTTM

  • Serve as a controller for alternating flow under supervision

  • Effective communication strategies for interacting with workers and the public on the TTM worksite

  • Procedures for setting up and removing equipment on the worksite under TTM

  • Carry out duties as a TTM worker on the worksite under TTM supervision

What you will get:
  • Traffic Management – Unit Standard 31958 – Explain the role of and operate as a TTM worker on the worksite under temporary traffic management (level 3)

  • All required safety gear

Eligibility:
  • You must be 16 years or older

  • Students that do not have NCEA Level 1 or 2 in English or Mathematics will need to show an understanding of mathematics, reading and writing at an adequate level
  • (Optional) Currently working in temporary traffic management under supervision

CAREER PATHWAYS

This course is a pre-requisite to gain Traffic Management Operative Non-Practising (TMO-NP) certification.
