Class schedule: Online when it suits you with one session each Wed 6:00pm-7:30pm online with your Tutor.

(session timing subject to confirmation by tutor).

Participants must also complete work placement as part of their study requirements. Our enrolments team can discuss this with you.

What you will learn:
  • Holistic wellbeing (whare tapa whā)

  • New Zealand health and wellbeing sector legislation, regulations and codes

  • Cultural competency and effective communication skills

  • Recognise and respond to changing needs and issues in a health and wellbeing setting including signs of vulnerability and abuse

  • Provide person-centred health and wellbeing support to maximise a person’s independence

What you will get:
  • New Zealand Certificate in Health & Wellbeing Level 3 upon completion. 40 NZQA Credits.

    Eligibility Criteria:
    • Must be a New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident

    • Must be 16 years or older
    • Must have basic Literacy & Math’s Skills (NZCEA Level 2 English or School Certificate English).

    • Must have basic computer skills

    • Access to a devices (such as laptop or desktop and WIFI)

    • Must be able to pass a police check.

    • Any medical conditions need to be declared.

    • Must reside in Auckland

    Note: As part of the course, you will undertake work experience. Since you’ll be working with vulnerable people, a police vetting will be required. You must complete a total of 100 hours over 21 weeks. If you’re already employed in health and wellbeing or community support, these hours can count towards your placement. Otherwise, you’ll need to ensure availability to fulfil the work placement requirements.
